PepsiCo/Frito-Lay Hosts Fall Festival at Vogel

Date

kid-with-painted-face2On October 20, more than 30 volunteers from PepsiCo/Frito-Lay hosted a special Fall Festival at Vogel. The children enjoyed a wide variety of seasonal activities including walking through a hay bale maze, dressing a scarecrow, getting their faces painted, dressing up in costumes, hearing a fall story, painting pumpkins and more. They loved examining each other’s newly-painted faces and pretending to be farmers, selling produce at a make-believe market.

In partnership with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, PepsiCo/Frito-Lay donated more than $3,500 worth of supplies in order to make Fall Fest a fun and memorable event for our children. On top of these gifts, they also created more than 700 bye-bye bags, which are snack sacks that we give to the children when they leave Vogel for the day.

We deeply appreciate the generosity of PepsiCo/Frito-Lay and its dedicated volunteers. The Fall Festival allowed the children of Vogel to immerse themselves in play, setting aside the stresses of their daily lives to just be kids. For children experiencing the trauma of homelessness, this is a rare and wonderful treat.
