No, Vogel Alcove is a non-religious, non-sectarian organization that serves families that meet the eligibility criteria regardless of religion, race, or gender. However, the Alcove was started by the Jewish community to help alleviate homelessness in Dallas.
The following services are provided for free to the families and their referring agency:
Vogel Alcove operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Families are referred to Vogel Alcove by their shelter case manager. Walk-ins are not accepted and are referred to a shelter to obtain housing first.
Homeless families with young children six weeks to five years old, living in homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and transitional housing programs that are affiliated with the Alcove can receive our services.
Vogel Alcove is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that provides free childcare, developmental services, and social services to eligible homeless families.
